VaGoldMaps ("the app") is designed to work fully on your device. This policy explains what data the app uses and how.
VaGoldMaps uses your device's location, with your permission, to show your position on the map and to center or follow the map while you're in the field. Your location is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party, and we do not store your location history.
You can revoke location access at any time in your device's Settings app.
Any locations, pins, tracks, or notes you save in the app are stored locally on your device using standard on-device storage. This data is not uploaded to any server and is not accessible to us. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
VaGoldMaps does not use analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services, and does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. We do not have user accounts, and the app does not communicate with any backend server as part of normal use.
The app displays publicly available map data (such as USGS topographic data, mine and geological datasets, and parcel boundaries) from third-party and government sources. Viewing this data does not involve sending any information about you to those sources.
VaGoldMaps does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal data at all.
If VaGoldMaps adds features that change how data is handled (for example, an optional account or sync feature), this policy will be updated before that feature is available, and the updated policy will be linked from the app's App Store listing.
